R2.8™ Crate Engine Breaks New Ground

This is the engine launch that 4WD off-road enthusiasts have been waiting for. Cummins R2.8 Turbo Diesel crate engine can now be purchased exclusively at www.cumminsrepower.com. The easy-to-install kit includes the accessories critical to a successful installation, including the complete front-end accessory drive and all of the wiring. All for under $9,000.

Cummins Electrifies with Vision of Future at NACV

At the inaugural North American Commercial Vehicle (NACV) show in Atlanta this past month, Cummins revealed its vision of the future. The company displayed super-efficient clean diesel engines (X12™ and X15™), the latest in ultra-low emission natural gas engine technology, and to round out the company’s expert capabilities in powertrain design, Cummins also revealed AEOS, a fully electric demonstration Urban Hauler Tractor. Cummins further reinforced its position as an innovative technology leader by revealing that it is investing in exploratory projects focused on the future of the industry.

11.21 MPG – Real-World Results for Sharp Transport

Working closely with the staff at Cumberland International, driver David Gootch of Sharp Transport didn’t just beat the 10 mpg barrier, he blew it away with real-world results of 11.21 miles per gallon in an International LT powered by an X15 SmartAdvantage™ Powertrain. Gootch paid special attention to optimizing cruise control usage, staying in top gear 89 percent of the time. Telematics showed that his average rpm for the run was 1067. This wasn’t just a brief trip to the grocery store, either. The test ran a full 5,599 miles, with steadily increasing fuel economy numbers at every mile marker. This is the real-world proof of performance that your customers demand.
