PowerSpec 6.1 Does More With Ease

Version 6.1 of PowerSpec has been released, with a new, customer-inspired interface based on your feedback. It is designed to be more user-friendly, and provides support for newly released and upcoming products while providing better guidance. Features include:

  • Export Product Support – Select the country where the vehicle will be used, and PowerSpec 6.1 will automatically adjust all of its recommendations to take in to account the region’s emissions regulations and provide engine options applicable for the region.
  • Support for Diverse Operation– It will combine this information with duty cycles and road types that the equipment will operate on, for greater accuracy in providing the best possible gearing recommendation.
  • A new User Interface – The screen visuals and information presented have been re-designed to more closely match the process that dealers go through when spec’ing a vehicle. Key elements, such as the equipment application and driveline preferences, follow a logical order. Drop-down boxes include graphics to assist with selecting the desired option, and the selection of road conditions ensures that the powertrain is properly spec’d for the operating conditions.
  • A Driveline Database – Includes the latest updates on axles, transmissions and tires from a broad range of industry suppliers.
  • Gearing Guidance – PowerSpec 6.1 provides specific recommendations on ways to modify the spec to achieve customer-identified goals for the optimum balance of power and fuel efficiency. If a spec does not achieve the customer’s stated objectives, suggested modifications will be presented to bring it in line.
  • Future Compatibility – PowerSpec 6.1 has been designed to accommodate recent engine releases such as the ISV5.0 and future developments that include the Cummins Westport ISB6.7 G natural gas engine and the entire suite of ADEPT™ technologies that will be introduced over the next few years.
  • Feature Descriptions – Idle Management, Load-Based Speed Control (LBSC), Gear-Down Protection (GDP) and the suite of ADEPT technologies are covered in a level of detail that is comprehensive and uses language that is easy to understand.
