Leading Fuel Economy. Unmatched Support.

Cummins_2013_ISX15

By offering fuel-efficient products and unmatched support through our people and processes, Cummins makes it easier for you to better enable your customers’ success.

The Cummins ISX15 continues to be the industry’s first choice in engines. Since 2010 it has achieved a 7 percent gain in fuel economy, with incremental improvements including reduced parasitic loads, enhanced low end torque to support downspeeding, the optimization of Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) and the addition of a naturally aspirated air compressor.

What does a 7 percent increase in fuel economy mean in dollars and cents for your customers? Customers currently running an average of 6.5 mpg and paying $4 per gallon for diesel are spending $61,538 in fuel costs every 100,000 miles that they run. A 7 percent increase bumps the fuel economy to 6.96 mpg, lowering those costs to $57,513 – a savings of $4,025 on every 100,000 miles that their trucks run.

Customers moving from pre-2010 engines could see up to a 10 percent improvement, with even greater savings. Better fuel economy means lower operating costs and higher potential profits for your customers.

Another option for fuel-conscious customers to consider is spec’ing the SmartAdvantage™ Powertrain – the most fuel-efficient integrated powertrain, with gains of 3-6% in fuel economy – which combines Cummins ISX15 SmartTorque2 (ST2) ratings with Eaton® Fuller’s Advantage™ Series automated transmission to deliver smooth shifting and the optimum torque for the best combination of fuel economy and performance in every gear.

And as a reminder, electronic features such as Load Based Speed Control (LBSC), Gear Down Protection (GDP) and Vehicle Acceleration Management (VAM) all help improve fuel economy as well.

Great technology is only the beginning. Your customers also need great technical support that’s available everywhere they need it. No one has a larger, more capable service network than Cummins, with over 3,500 locations across North America. Each location is staffed with certified engine experts, and equipped with the latest diagnostic tools and Genuine Cummins Parts. Plus, when your customers are on the road, they can call Cummins Care any time of the day or night at 1-800-DIESELS™ (1-800-343-7357) for help locating the nearest available authorized facility to handle their maintenance or service needs. And coming soon, Cummins Connected Diagnostics will expand capabilities to provide continuous support when and where your customers need it most.
