ISB6.7: Better. Where It Counts.

In 2010, Cummins added Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR), bringing emissions to near-zero levels. In 2013, the foundation of SCR technology allowed Cummins to meet 2014 greenhouse gas (GHG) and fuel-efficiency standards a year ahead of schedule – while continuing to boost fuel economy.

Fuel economy has always been a key differentiator for the ISB6.7. In 2013 we introduced a new air intake throttle that reduces parasitic losses and leverages the advantage of SCR to reduce the amount of cooled Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) in the engine. This product improvement resulted in a fuel economy gain of up to 2 percent over the 2012 engine, saving your customers thousands of dollars a year in fuel costs.

The introduction of patented NanoNet™ media in the fuel filter with 99.6 percent efficiency ensures cleaner fuel and removes and retains 10 times more particles than competitive media to deliver superior protection and performance, preventing engine damage.

What makes the ISB6.7 the favorite engine for so many customers? It has the highest power-to-weight ratio in its class. In fact, the current ISB6.7 delivers 41 percent more horsepower than the pre-2007 ISB, with 38 percent better clutch engagement torque. An ISB6.7 that delivers 325 hp and up to 750 lb-ft of peak torque weighs just over 1,300 lbs, including the aftertreatment system.
