Features and Benefits of the Cummins ISB6.7

The addition of the Cummins ISB6.7 engine as an option makes International DuraStar® trucks even more appealing to customers. The ISB6.7 is a proven product with advanced features that deliver real-world benefits to your customers.

  • High Pressure Common Rail (HPCR) Fuel System – The HPCR system keeps the air/fuel mixture at consistently high injection pressures regardless of engine rpm, for quick throttle response. HPCR allows for multiple injection events per combustion cycle, which increases fuel efficiency, and enables smoother, quieter operation.
  • Single High-Capacity Electronic Control Module (ECM) – A single system manages both the engine and the aftertreatment system, for optimum performance and fuel efficiency while achieving near-zero emissions.
  • VGT™ Turbocharger from Cummins Turbo Technologies – This patented design is widely recognized as the industry leader for performance. Electric actuation improves precision and responsiveness. The VGT Turbocharger also increases fuel economy and braking horsepower.
  • Fleetguard® Fuel Filters and Lube Filters from Cummins Filtration – Fleetguard filters protect against corrosion and contaminants with innovative technology such as NanoNet™ media, which provides 10 times better protection than conventional fuel filters.
  • Cummins Aftertreatment System from Cummins Emission Solutions – The proprietary system on the ISB6.7 consists of a Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) and Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) technology, achieving near-zero emissions.

The fully integrated design of the ISB6.7 utilizes proven technology that has been meeting U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) 2014 greenhouse gas (GHG) regulations and fuel-efficiency standards since the start of 2013. In fact, the 2013 ISB6.7 gets up to 2 percent better fuel economy than the previous model. The ISB6.7 utilizes the same diagnostic tools and software as Cummins Heavy-Duty on-highway engines, for ease of service, and is backed by the largest and most capable service and support network in North America.

ISB6.7 ratings for International DuraStar trucks range from 200 hp to 300 hp (149-224 kW), with 520 lb-ft to 660 lb-ft (705-895 N•m) of peak torque and 400 lb-ft of clutch engagement torque. See cumminsengines.com for more information about the ISB6.7, or download the ISB6.7 brochure for additional details.
